Last Updated: May 27, 2024

Your privacy is important to us. It is BitGenex's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, www.bitgenex.com, and other sites we own and operate. This website is for educational and research purposes only.

1. Information We Collect

We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you (e.g., for account creation). We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

Information we may collect includes:

  • Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address via Firebase Authentication. Your password is processed by Firebase Authentication and is not directly accessible by us. You may optionally provide a name.
  • Usage Data: We may collect information on how the services are accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. This is primarily for analytics and improving our service.
  • Text Inputs: For tools like the Text Processor or AI & Source Explorer, the text you input is sent to our server for processing to illustrate cryptographic and AI concepts. For AI-driven features, this text (or a derivative prompt) is sent to third-party AI providers. **BitGenex does not permanently store these specific input texts or the illustrative keys/addresses generated from them as part of its regular operation.** You are responsible for managing any outputs you choose to save or use.
  • Payment Information (if applicable): If you purchase a plan, our payment processor (PayPal) will collect and process your payment information. BitGenex does not directly store your full credit card details. We may store transaction IDs or subscription IDs provided by the payment processor to manage your access.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information (such as using Firebase Authentication for account management and Firestore for user data), we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

4. Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
